Road-Trippin' (week1)

Postby rayfound » June 9th, 2012, 10:12 am

Gentlemen, the next 3 weeks or so I will be putting a ton of miles on for work, traveling all over the western US.

My schedule is basically that I will be traveling/working M-F, and flying home on the weekends. I am trying to find some time (that I haven't had at home) to do a little fishing in the evenings before retiring to my hotel. I can pack pretty much all my FF gear without hassle, but I won't have a ton of time to get too far off the beaten path.

I will also be towing a trailer, so I need places where parking and maneuvering is simple, here is my basic travel agenda for the 1st week:

Mon: Pismo Beach and on to Paso robles. Possibly staying there or heading to bakersfield. If the Cup finals are on, this will be a no fishing day anyway.

Tues: Bakersfield to Visalia/Tulare

Weds: Visalia to fresno and on to bay area.

Thurs: Bay area/Sacramento

Friday: flying home from Reno.

So Gents, where should I try and fish??? Again, time is very limited.

(The following week I will be heading to SLC and then continuing north from there. )

Thanks,
Ray
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Ray, PM Swindle regarding week 2 out of SLC. He's guided up there the last few years and can dial you in. Have a safe trip and look forward to the report.

Whew!
Lots of driving. Seems like quick-fix almost roadside stuff is in order right?
I never drooled more than the times I have done the Tahoe to Reno drive. In other words, please fish the Truckee for us!

Good luck on the trip, Ray. I hope you find some time on the water and get into some fish.
