fly fishing bucket list/ What is yours?

Postby garypullings » May 28th, 2012, 10:55 am

So I am sitting here at work thinking of anything but work. I am thinking that today would be a great day to go fishing, and I am stuck here at work. So I am thinking if I could go fishing, where would I go?

So I decided to think of a bucket list of sorts for California. If I could go fishing anywhere in California, where would I go? Therefore I decided to make a list of the top 10 places I want to fish in California. These are not in any particular order

Post your top 10 bucket list places for California.

1. McArthur-Burney Falls
2. Hot creek
3. Upper Sacramento
4. Eel river – when the salmon/ steelhead are running
5. Trinity
6. Feather
7. Klamath
8. Pit River
9. Russian
10. LA River

Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner

Santa Ana River Lakes
Irvine lakes
Corona Lakes
Lake Gregory
Green Valley Lake
The Aquaduct in Hesperia
Santa Ana River at the 60 Freeway (my honey hole)
All American Aquaduct in Imperial County
Salton Sea
Mono Lake

Hopefully my mentioning these spots won't ruined them for the extremely hot bites that occur.

This is a tough one!

I think that list would fill a book! But I am good with the blue squiggly lines on maps. Just shoot a dart and see where it takes you for me.

Golden Dorado fishing in South America. Pic a country!
