Interesting--is it purple and blue? That's what it appears like on my monitor.

Nice, Jon. I have the large arbor in gold, which can be pretty flashy. That dull finish on your reel covers all that. Sometimes you can't be stealthy enough for big spooky trout. That helps.

Interesting! It looks purple and blue to me. Jon, are you color-blind and is a friend playing a cruel joke by giving you a purple and blue reel and telling you it's brown, green and tan camo?

Aaaaaaaaah, much better. I wasn't too keen on a purple and blue reel  . What did your friend use to paint the reel with. i.e. will it stand up to normal abuse? Cause that is a really cool idea. Sleath, Ninja reels too cool.

He was painting a AR-15 and he had extra paint left over.

So it will stand up to ware and tear.

Interesting paint how it looks purple and blue in sunlight and brown, green and tan indoors.

It must not have been painted using one of the lights that reproduce natural daylight. Like the ones so many fly tiers use.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Richard it's not so much the paint although I suspect different paints do reflect or absorb colors differently.

What's happening here is a color shift because the pictures were taken in open sky.
The reel is absorbing the blue from the open sky and is causing it to appear blue/purple.

Here is the same pic of the reel but I color corrected by adding a ton of yellow back in to compensate for all the blue the reel was absorbing.

Hope that makes sense. :? :D

The camo color scheme is pretty * sweet. jon
