Asking a favor

Postby fflutterffly » December 2nd, 2014, 6:21 pm

My friend Kory owns a shop in Jolla, CA. area. Conway works with him fishing for Mako and carp as well. There is a contest for the best fly shop. I've mentioned The Fly Stop often and many of you have purchased flies from Kory. Now I'd like to ask you to vote for his shop at the following website: https://www.wishpond.com/lp/351940/
He's running number 2 at the moment and voting ends Dec. 31, 2014. We are trying to get as many people as possible to join in and make a California shop the winner!

Also take a look at this video: http://www.flyfilmtour.com/watch-trailers/ His is the Carpland Video.

Thanks everyone.

Is this shop in La Jolla? I've never heard of it.
Is that the same one as Paul P has? I thought that shop was down at the Liberty Station development.

Thanks for voting. This guy has donated so many flies for Casting For Recovery and never stops giving. A virtuous man.

I met one of the FS guys, not sure which, at the BM FF Fair. Real nice guy. Also, at least one of our members here ties for him (which I didn't know). For those of us who don't tie, that place is great for fly purchases.

I'll take a look at it, thanks for the information. Also, I voted. I've met Conway Bowman, his wife is friends with a buddy of mine.

I think the other guy is Peter Piccone? He used to be out of Solana Beach FS, then opened a shop.

Wow, just checked the price of PA's, very reasonable, compares with FlyShack.

Hey Guys, thanks for the Support, we greatly appreciate it, it means a lot!

@WanderingBlues: that was myself and the shop manager Chuck that you met. Nice to meet you as well, and I already have 2 more colors of your caddis pattern that we talked about in the works (it will be a little time) :). Had a good time at Marriot's, those guys have quite the impressive spread!

@John Harper: Conway Bowman and The Fly Stop work together under The Fly Stop Bowman Bluewater Guide Service. The Fly Stop is a separate and different from Peter Piconi and his shop, which is So Cal Fly Fishing, it is an amazing shop and still located in Liberty Station. That is the shop you were referring to I believe. They offer guide service as well.

We are actually located right at Bird Rock in La Jolla, directly on La Jolla BLVD. If you were headed south from Carlsbad on La Jolla BLVD, you hit a series of Roundabouts. The very first one you will hit (coming from the North) is our location. We are next to BMW Builders. Just wanted to be sure to clarify...stop on down sometime, and check us out.

Thanks all!
Kory
