NorCal Fishing

Postby littlefish » August 28th, 2015, 8:52 am

Hey guys,

Can't GTW it after all because of work  , but I will be in the SF area first week of October. Has anyone fished the Feather or Yuba?

Was also thinking of going up to Redding, but I'm not sure whats exactly there.

Any pointers would be great! (PM me if you'd like)

Thanks,

Redding you say? How many rivers/lakes did you want to fish?

Lots of options in the Redding area.
Did you say Salomon in the area? Yes there is
Trout? Yes

Both the Yuba and Feather will be fishing very good in early OCT and are excellent choices. The Lower Sac in Redding is also a good choice. The salmon will be starting spawning and the egg bite will be heating up. Unfortunately, it will be pretty crowded then, but you may get lucky and pick a day when the hordes don't show up.

Wanted to try my luck on the Trinity but I didn't realize Redding is ~6hrs from SF!

So I'll probably stick to the feather/yuba and go on a guided trip on a weekday to avoid the hordes!

Thanks for the tip!

Yuba & Feather are much closer to SF than Redding. Redding is about 4 hours from SF and the Trinity is about 5 hours.
