Looking for Intel on fishing Laughlin

Hey y'all. I am currently in Kingman Arizona at my mother-in-law's for Thanksgiving. That's only a half hour from Bullhead city and Laughlin on the Colorado River. I have gathered some information and recon the few sites and will probably be fishing tomorrow at Big Bend State Park. I am hoping there are a few of you out there know more about this river than I do. The current looks to be a formidable opponent as does the afternoon winds.

I am targeting both smallmouth and carp. Striper or largemouth would be a bonus. I plan on using a five wt. with a sinking line to strip streamers and buggy carp flies low in the water column. I know that smallies like rocky areas, but I'm not really sure how or where to target the carp. Today prefer to be deep in the main channel, or will I find them and back eddies and side ponds/harbors? I have seen many large carp from the walkway below the casinos, but there are no fishing signs everywhere. I wonder if the signs pretend to wading or if it's even possible to wade that area.

There's tons of carp hanging out by the docks by the resorts. Super easy to hook, hard to land!

Drive to Sedona there are a few trout there. Or at least there used to be. I used to catch stripers years ago at Lake Mojave

Oak Creek Canyon had a large wildfire this summer. I have not followed the reports to learn if Oak Creek is impacted by ash and sediment deposits. It would be worthwhile to check before driving.

The fishing locations are a dynamic system. Some times the impacts as less than wildfires, but the fishing suffers anyway.

This year, there must have been cooperation between CA and AZ agencies with regard to border waters. No additional stamp or endorsement is needed to fish the whole (both sides) Colorado River.
