Just got back from Christmas Island and wanted to give a quick report. We were initially delayed by 2 days because of a mechanical problem on the charter plane. You will be happy to know that Air Pacific is scheduled to resume flights at the end of this month. We did fish with Louie de Fish and his son Jouquin on Oahu in extremely windy (gusts to 60 MPH) conditions and although we managed to hook a couple we had a tough time of it. Managed to finally get down to CI a couple of days late and although we had some very heavy rain the fishing was outstanding. Lots of nice bones to 11lbs and some very nice GTs hooked and even a few landed. Hot Gt flies were Bobs Bangers, RDCFs (tied by Carl Blackledge), Bull Candies and regular Blados Crease flies. I don't have all the pics gathered together yet but here are a few to start with. The link below is a slideshow on photobucket with some more pics.

Ken,
Welcome back buddy! I heard about the minor delay in Hawaii! I always say " If youre gonna get stuck, better Hawaii then anywhere else!"
Well..... I've never said that... but if I were to then....

The trip looks awesome.... I will definitely go there hopefully next year if I can. I missed out judging by those pics, and quite jealous

You're a "flats" beast man... all those great looking fish you get into...
Can;t wait to come by the shop and take a look at the rest of your photos!

Artin

Sweet report, Ken! Those are some nice fish. It's really hard not to be jealous. Warm water, with fish, sure sounds good.

That looks fun as hell, and I'm no fan of saltwater, but that looks fun!! Thanks for sharing.
