Re: And so it begins

A TFO 3wt 6' would be the perfect X mas gift! You have started a lifelong addiction, I mean fascination :bananadance: , and she can share it with you. Nothing wrong with Girly Girl on the water. I think that would be the perfect handle for her on this forum.

Re: Visalia suggestion

5F thanks for the post. All the usual suspects. I appreciate the time.
Brain. I weep for our waters. We just might head up to the kern and splash in the water.

Re: New to the forum, to UT, & to swinging flies

Welcome!!!
I fished many places on my last trip through Utah and found it just breath taking! Lucky you. Now Oregons no slouch either, Washington, California, Colorado.... but those Utah waters are really fun and great people.

Re: Recommendations for LO?

When I was there around the 18th I hammered on small (18-20) black wet flies... for that matter emergers like RS2 WD40 did great. When I seined the water I found a lot...lots of free living caddis size 14. Mostly understanding the depth of the water and your placement of lies might increase your tak...

Re: Yellowstone and Silver Creek Preserve

Thanks for the advice. I'll be fishing with Jim (Jim's fly shop) and the other guys from Flymph.com. The date was chosen, not by me, so I had no choice if I want to fish with these guys. I'm just glad to be doing this long trip.

Yellowstone and Silver Creek Preserve

I'm going to Yellowstone in June to fish with a group of guys from another forum. On the way back home we plan on cutting through Idaho and fish Silver Creek, and then continue on to Bend through Boise. My question is this: Does anyone have the fly tying recipe for the Morris Silver Creek Special. I...

Train and fly fishing

Rattling about in the grey of my mind is a memory of a train running along a river. Here fly fisherman can jump the train, both off and on, to fish. Where is this magical place?
