Re: Posts

I'll still post! Don't close the board! It's one of the few places I feel comfortable "sharing" my local spots. I don't enjoy Facebook's style. I too have a soft spot for these old-school forums. As for local spots, I am 100% behind posts that are extremely cryptic. Example: "Nice wi...

Re: Lockdown Posts

Good call Clee! I think access (even to waters that we thought were over-fished and worthless) may become an issue. Parks are closing down, lakes are closing down etc. I'm a tad concerned but also this bodes well for the future because the fish will be able to rest a little or re-establish themselve...

It was my first outing this year. I got tired of seeing all of this Pyramid p*rn so had to battle it with the local dinks!

Re: So Cal Report | 03.15.20

The differences continue to fascinate me as well. Could be a great springtime for the So Cal locals.

So Cal Report | 03.15.20

A quick charge into the locals under gloomy skies. It was just what my wife and I needed. Small fish but in some cases, a great game. For example, one fish was feeding visibly and at first rising sporadically but clearly focused on something subsurface. A few good drifts with a dry proved worthless....

SoCal Salmonids - Podcast

As I isolate myself and organize my flies while this rainy spell (yay!) passes by, I revisited the Barbless.co podcast and found this interesting entry. Conway and Michelle talk with director of CalTrout’s South Coast Region, Sandi Jacobson. Here's the link: https://socal.barbless.co/bringing-back-s...

File Under Inspiration :: Tamiami

Thought this would be fun to share with the group. Although it focuses on Florida waters, it's a fun reminder of the fun that can be found roadside. I have a few guilty pleasures here in California that are very much roadside and, ironically, I recently saw (finally) my first mountain lion at such a...

Re: Barbless Podcast

It was enjoyable to do ... all said, it's almost awkward ... oh well we count our blessings every day. You can count on that.

Barbless Podcast

Recently Rebecca (my wife) and I were interviewed by Conway and "Mish" Bowman for a podcast I had not heard of. Well, the interview was fun but it also introduced me to a California-centric podcast that is really great. Cherry pick through the podcasts; they are divided by region. There's ...

A16

Some of you may know that A16's last two stores are closing their doors. They have been scheduling sales and deeper and deeper markdowns. I regret that I will not be in town for this weekend's events but here's what they're posting for LA: https://www.adventure16.com/info/schedule-of-los-angeles-cou...

CA Regulation Changes Comment Deadline May 3

A reminder to all that the deadline is tomorrow. I have tried to compile something for all concerned to chew on. I wish it could be shorter but it is as short as I could make it without thinking that I'd missed something. I know I know, that's crazy thinking right? Please visit: http://thetrouthugge...
