Re: Keeping Secrets

There are so many other boards that blab and hotspot names, directions, everything. At least here, when I put up a report on a SoCal trout stream, you have to be registered and logged in to view it. I always have a great time out there and love reading everyone's reports but am not really comfortabl...

Re: "October" Photo Contest

Well, it seriously lacks the "fly fishing content" of the awesome shots above... 2.Photographs must relate to fly fishing, a place, person, fish, gear, insects , you get the picture. as taken - untouched http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h324/Tmanson001/IMG_7059.jpg and cropped, with the...

Re: SICKKKKKKK!!!!!!

That looks like a thrill for sure - the real batman hitting the balloons - way cool! I didn't get that part at all. Is it something from a Batman movie? (I haven't seen any of them). Haven't seen em either, just a guy in all black flying through the air made me think of batman. I saw the first ball...

Re: SICKKKKKKK!!!!!!

That looks like a thrill for sure - the real batman hitting the balloons - way cool! I work with a guy who does tandem skydiving / instruction on weekends, he makes a ton of money, but wants out. He cannot get any kind life insurance and his wife hates it. He kinda chuckles when we have our safety m...

Re: Hi-Viz Question

I wish I could ask each fish I see move up toward my fly, then for whatever reason turn and refuse it... WHY??? Wrong size? Wrong bug? Wrong color? Drag? Saw the tippit? Combination or all of the above? I don't use a lot of hi-viz, but if you can't see the fly it is not much good. I am sure color is...

Re: OMG New DFG Director

Thanks for the info... got a little bit more info out on trout underground's e-mail today. Hopefully this guy gets the job, I like his credentials. More barbless C&R zones would be awesome.

Re: Ultralight reels on sale

Yes, perfect for 4" trout! I debated buying a spool, but just use the wf2 floating for most all my creek trips. It does not have any room for backing, what's that for anyways? If you can find one, I would recommend it.

Re: Ultralight reels on sale

It's just the spool -I think- I got mine through them a while ago (at a killer discount) and I believe it is now discontinued.

Re: Your Prettiest 4" Trout

This thread rocks! Dray - that shot is sweet! Since I don't live anywhere near wild trout, and because SIZE matters I left for work a little bit early with my tape measure... http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h324/Tmanson001/0623111302a.jpg This should qualify. The urban SoCal watersheds ...

Re: Here is a guide for You!

Howdy, I fly fish for super large salmon, trout, cutbows, 15 pound plus winter run steelhead, etc... Some fly fisher wants to book a trip with me and I looked at your web site... I got a good chuckle and felt embarrassment for you and your writers... Dude, NEVER EVER take a picture of a fish you ca...

Re: Creek rod recommendations

I have built two 2wts that I use pretty much exclusively in local creeks, both 6'6", I use the 4pc most of the time because it packs in a small back pack, both cost me about $100-120, makes a 7" trout a lot more fun.

Re: SB Sun Article this AM

I can walk out from the furthest man made obstruction in that area in less then half a day and I'm old, short and carry way too much weight. I suspect that they just went ahead and kept fishing until what snacks they brought ran out. I bet if I really had to I could walk all 45 miles to my house in...

Re: Completely off topic

I was thinking about the same topic, and whether the extremists that are causing most of the problems in the world would consider something like that. It doesn't seem likely. Live and let live is not their motto. No kidding! Millions of people travel by air daily all with the intention of landing s...
