Re: First Annual Out flybob flybob

I humbly submit this.

If size...or lack thereof, is the sole requirement, then my submission is not in the running. Add color to the equation, then maybe?

Re: ... not what you think!

I've cast 2 Dan Craft Sig III rods. One a 5wt and the other a 3wt? Both were nice casting rods, but nothing special. About a year later, I cast his new FT Lights. These are 5-6 piece rods, and I thought a step up from the Sig IIIs. Both are progessive/moderate action rods. IMO, both would be good fo...

Re: Mono Vs. Fluoro

I flip flop back and forth. No need for fluoro for my creek fishin'. Use fluoro for streamers, and most of the time for nymphing. If i'm fishing picky sippers, i'll go to 6x mono. I like a softer tippet, more than an invisible one. For heavy stuff like bass, I use 100% fluoro, for the abrasion resis...

Re: For you Ultralight Addicts

midger wrote:The reel looks okay, but $280 for a click/pawl reel? Sheesh.

Spoilsport.  But I tend to agree. IF I spent that kind of $ on a clicker, it would probably be on a old Hardy.

For you Ultralight Addicts

Sage updated their reels. Here's the new Click reel for the 0-000wt rods.

Nice, no. 8-)

Also noticed most of the spare spools on the new reels are more reasonably priced.

Re: Furled Leaders

.........and for you really lazy, all thumbs, cheap fishers like me. Twisted leaders..... http://castflys.net/Documents/Twisted.pdf Out of curiosity, i've made these, but have never fished with them. VERY simple to make, but I cannot tell you they are any better or worse than furled leaders. I have ...

Re: Ultra light gear articles

Nice Brian. Look's like a great place to me. Would love to hit that pond sometime. :D Darrin, It's above Auberry, a short hike from my inlaw's place. 4 ponds, and lots of blugill. Water levels are way down this year, but i'm sure the fishing is still very good. My little one nabbed this out of the ...

Re: new line issues

From reading the description of the line, and your comments about head length, it sounds like it should turnover really well. Shorter, heavier/fat head should load quickly, and have a positive turnover....like a bass taper would. I just wonder if the braided leader, in combination with the new line,...

Re: Let's see if flybob can beat this one.......

It was a lengthy battle. I thought I would have to break that mollusk off. Ultralights need not apply.
