Re: Free Kindle Book on Amazon 11-14-2013

Thanks for the heads up on this. Like Tom said, Amazon has a Kindle app for Mac and PC in addition to the other portable platforms. I have been reading using Kindle for Mac for a couple years now.

Re: Las aventuras del hombre Zee y El Estrella Roquero Pesca

Looks like another awesome, addict get together! Is Mr. Early Riser taking a nap? :LOLO: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5521/10541424473_e595e224e1_b.jpg briansII I was going to suggest he was maybe wrapping a rod, but thought that would likely be taken wrong. Then it occurred to me the he was tying...

Re: Help, Float Tube air Bladder replacements

Yeah. I don't think they exist, Mike. Like you, I did some googling and came up empty. Same with Ebay. Might be replacement time. I saw on the Caddis website that the tube appears to be still available, but if they don't support their own product then what's the point? How many time have you had to ...

Re: Breaking rods can be fun.

Interesting and informative video, Brian. Makes me wonder though, how many will watch this and decide their rods can take more abuse than they thought and how many will think twice about how they treat them from now on.

Jimbo

Does breaking someone else's flyrod count. After hundreds of days on the water I have only broken one rod and it was not mine. Sorry Keith…

Re: SoCal Fly Tying - Set and Secure Dumbbell Eyes

The last few times I tied clousers, and it's been a while, I used UTC's GSP 100 and 200, depending on the size of the fly. Strong, slippery stufff. I did the glued thread base, two bumps to position the eyes, followed by the lashing wraps and frapping wraps. Worked well but after a few trout from 18...

Re: SoCal Fly Tying - Set and Secure Dumbbell Eyes

Well done. I do mine pretty much like that, but mine still roll eventually. I tend to use a thicker thread so that I can crank those frapping wraps a bit more. That helped with the rolling eyes, but has not completely stopped my clousers from rolling their eyes at me.

Here's the video:

Re: Anyone else like to save some wonga?

Protecting the paint…after posting this the other night I got to thinking about how I might tackle this. I was thinking about using silicone caulking and brush and just painting a thin layer across the bottom of the magnetic feet. It might need repairing but should remain quite soft over time. I als...

Re: Anyone else like to save some wonga?

Looks like you did a good job to me.

I think I would like three feet. Using a 4-way side outlet * would, I think, make it much more stable. Still, yours looks better than the ones I used to think about buying.

What did you do, if anything, to prevent scratches from the magnetic feet?

Re: New Dry Fly Floatant?

WanderingBlues wrote:Wait a minute.... If it has scent attractant qualities, is it still fly fishing?

In this instance, it's called "fly bait". The stuff draws in blowflies, which in turn attract the fish. ;)

Re: Hat Creek completely decimated by Live Bait

Having only fished Hat Creek twice, once each, upper and lower, I did see the damage the muskrats have caused and are continuing to cause. My dad, my friend Dan and I fished the lower with Mike Mercer last year and Mike was explaining about the muskrats that escaped the farm and showed us some of th...

Of course it's a joke. It's a play on the old joke of telling your buddy you do not have to out run the bear, just out run him.
