Re: 8 1/2 or 9 foot?

8.5 will be better for huckin streamers, especially in the wind. 9 will be a better general purpose stick, and will have a little more sensitivity for takes. If it were me, I’d

Get them both....

Re: Back in Cali

Sadly, my tax guy got diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer so we had his partner do them remotely. So, we won’t be hitting Cali too soon. However, the doors always open if anyone wants a crack at the legendary San Juan, Rio Grande, Pecos, or similar.

Re: What About Bob?

In Bob We Trust.

How did the gear perform? I just qualified as “Pro Staff” for Redington and plan on picking up some boots and the waders.

Re: Pennsylvania Fly Fishing?

My dad lives on Laurel Lake in the Allegheny Mountains. Best flyfishing I ever had with bass, pike, bluegill, and perch, usually on one streamer! The Susquehanna River is amazing for small mouth on clousers.

Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

I’ll use my Simms wading socks sometimes without folding them over to act as gravel guards. That way, they’ll extend up to the knee.

Back in Cali

Me, the Missus, and the People will be back in California for taxes on April 9th in Victorville. We’ll probably roll north to Bishop and stay at PVR for a few days immediately after. If anyone’s interested, come on up. The campfire will be open.

Re: A Huge Lesson

I wish I had been along. If nothing else he would’ve gotten a “move along, *...” My best to Chris. A nicer guy you’ll never meet.

Season’s Greetings!

A Holiday tradition in our home is to share a Christmas sermon from a friend, flyfisherman, and pastor from Jackson, Wyoming- Pastor Ben Nardi. I’ve known him online through fly forums for several years and had the pleasure of joining him for lunch in our travels this year. I’ve also included one of...

Re: Thankful for Everyone on this Board

Ditto all that. That's why it's so sad to see so few people posting reports any more. But, I've made some good friends here over the years as well. I’m really hoping that the direct photo loading will help. I’ve been trying to get up some posts every time I venture out, and I’m always enjoying the ...

Re: Thankful for Everyone on this Board

It’s been a good run. Some of my favorite moments have been spent in the company of folks from FFA. I’ve learned about tossing flies, about being a steward for our resource. I’ve shared water with guys with whom I disagree with on political and social issues, but wouldn’t hesitate to give them my la...

Re: Hi all! New member, small stream trout addict.

Welcome aboard. I fished the locals for years on 2# test, building my own micro spinners that would suit a particular water or condition. Then one day I politely waited while a couple of fly guys worked a run. Got to speaking with them and a week later I bought my first fly rod. It’s a slippery slo...
