Alarm fear in fish?

At the tip of the noses of mammals, including humans, is a ball of nerve cells known as the Grueneberg ganglion, named after Hans Grueneberg, the scientist who described the structure in mice in 1973. But they still did not know what the ganglion smelled. Researchers at the University of Lausanne in...

Re: Getting to the point

Ok. Let me get this straight. Fish weed beds, structure for ambushing and buggers on the bottom slowly, bait type flies on mid-water faster. Now are bass in every type of water? I guess I can start my education as I always do, on the internet. Thanks guys. I'll give you a call Craig, but I still don...

Re: Overall Disappointment

Why don't we stop this. Let's get on to the fishing and agree that everyone involved are both good at what they do. It was time for David to move to the next logical step. Guy has a great service on the Kern. David need to begin his own. Let's support them both. Divorce is ugly and things are said r...

Re: New Wright and McGill report

Thanks for reminding me.

The reel is a Wright and McGill Dragonfly. Smooth with a very nice drag system controlled by the turn of a large easy to handle knob. I just might have to get one of these in a small size also. Yummmmmm

New Wright and McGill report

The maiden voyage of my 6-wt Wright and McGill took place at 6:15AM at Playa Del Rey. My report is as follows. As no fish were caught because I forgot my license, I decided to practice my casting. I'm just a beginner at all this and it shows in my review. So..... some of the terms I’ve made up, but ...

Re: Screen Names

Let's own up here boys. I don't think it would be the hair color that is paramount in this voting. so casting my vote, as a member of this tribe, would be to put up a new avitar each week so you all can be happy! I know this is a democracy under a dictatorship. :P :P

Re: My New Website!

Your website is very impressive. The colors give me a feeling of rustic 'yesteryear' adventure, as if I am stepping back in time and will feel like I am an explorer. The clip show is a nice touch. Photo's make me want to go fish with this service. When you say 'all inclusive' do you also mean lunch ...

Re: Screen Names

I began my internet life purchasing such things as butterflies, which at one time were called flutterbyes. I tried to log in as that on one of the lines and it was taken. So it morphed into Fflutterffly way before I ever picked up a fly rod. Then one day I was at Marriots in Fullerton. Standing in t...

Re: Floatants, what's your favorite poison, and why?

Be careful of any substance that is an airborne product, since the body was not designed to take in powders. I've got to get some of this and try it. At the moment I'm using the silicon based Orvis product. I think it is Wonderfloat? can't remember the name.

Re: Setting the record strait..Why I am on the East Side!

You know how I feel. I've said it to you. Now your happy and that's all that matters. I love both the Kern and the "East" and now I have more reasons to visit it. Change is wonderful, especially when there is so much water to explore and share with your family. I wish you all the best of s...

Re: Hey trout

In 1745 Thomas Grey said 'ignorance is bliss', however, his knowledge of any ought weight rod is sure not confined to fly fishing. You boys are both nuts and rich if you have so many of those fancy little sticks around. Go enjoy and I'll just have to live vicariously while I cast out my 2wt. TFO. ( ...
