kaweah

My new resolution is to begin my fishing experience of the west Sierra Nevada. Has anyone fished the Kaweah? I need easy access for my pal so she can walk to the river easily.

Re: Nano Floatant

Hydrophobics have been around for a while. Simms is using it in much of its rain gear. This sounds like a winner. Now if we can write them to place it in small containers that would be fantastic. Wouldn't this be a great item to put on your weight forward floating line!!!! Perfect for those dry fly ...

Re: Adjustable Thingamabobber

a friend of mine from Utah showed me this set up about two years ago, but instead of the nail knot he used a uni knot. This is a very easy system. When not in use I keep the knots up at my butt section and leader knot.

Re: Long Beach Casting Club?

As I PM'd you this is one of the finest clubs around, with exceptional programs and a real intent on expanding, not only the sport of fly fishing, but everyone who joins in the activities, many which are open to non-members. I don't know of other clubs that do that. We volunteer to teach the casting...

Re: Bird ID

If this happens again I'll spend more time filming the bird and more close ups. It was fantastic just to stand that close to the bird. And by the way it was about 24" not 36" tall.

Re: Bird ID

One thing I notice in most of your explanation is the lack of mention regarding how blue the beak area was. I'm trying to get the other still photos from my friend, which will detail the bird better. You guys are great!

Re: Bird ID

Well I thank you all. RTH or Eagle I had a great find. This trip included a great casual walk by of a fox in front of the car and several deer that day.

Bird ID

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f241/fflutterffly/tn-2.jpeg On a recent trip to the Owens I got this shots plus video of this 'hawk?' and it's kill. I was about 5 feet from this bird. It was very tall about 3', which I thought was large for a hawk. I has a striking blue beak area. It might be a R...

Re: Adjustable Thingamabobber

Great Idea Mark! I went home and got some old line out and did a few Pre-yarn indicators for my trip to the Kern on Tuesday. I'll give this new suggestion a run. I also think it will work well with those torpedo shaped indicators making it easy to snug the ends up tight with the "keepers."...
