Re: Wasn't Sure Where To Post This So....................

Sweet! I can see an Oregon section being added to this fine message board pretty darn soon. You probably didn't have to think long and hard on that decision to stay in Oregon or move back to Fresno. What a sweet deal you've got going up there. Keep those reports coming and get a new camera quick. Pe...

Re: Large Arbor Reels...

I'm partial to Galvan reels ( http://www.galvanflyreels.com/index.html ). I'm using their OB series in the smaller sizes for my lightweight rods and have Galvan Torques (T-4, T-5, T-6, T-8) on my bigger rods. Smooth strong drags for the rare occasion you might need to actually use a drag ;)

Re: Hello From Strohble!!

Welcome aboard. You'll find some of the familiar folks around here and perhaps even a few you don't know yet. The conversations are a bit more open over here.

Heck, even one of FlyBob's fish will put a decent bend in that 000WT rod. ;)

Re: * and the internet

I tried to get Midger to join the Coed Naked Fly Fishing Club this weekend during our backpack trip and thus provide some of this '*' everyone is asking for. But for some reason with air temps at 23 degrees and water temps at 39 he decided to refrain from doing so. On second thought, maybe that's a...

I'm waiting excitedly for the first (of many) pictures of wild redbands caught on your new 000wt (corrected per Sasha). Has it come in yet?

Re: new line issues

Got to love opinions - everyone has them, even if some of them conflict with others. The effect of the leader (furled/braided vs tapered) should be easy to check out. Just replace that furled/braided leader with a nice 7.5 to 9 ft tapered mono leader and see if it changes the results of the cast. Th...

Re: Well I took the plunge

Congrats on finally taking the plunge. That light little rod will be great on small streams. You should have no worries about launching the little guys out of the water on the hook set (something that can and will happen with heavier rods) and, as I hope you find out real soon, the smaller rods have...

Re: Mel Krieger passes away

It's a sad day for the fly fishing community. We've lost a great one who had tremendous influence helping young and old learn how to cast and fish better. My prayers go out to his family and friends in this time of their (and our) loss.

Re: PONTOONS vs. FLOAT TUBES

I have both a pontoon boat (older-style Buck's Bag Bronco) and a float tube (Outcast Trinity) and like fishing from both. The pontoon boat is nice and stable, can travel some distance from launch point but it is heavy and awkward to transport. I can't carry or drag it very far so I make sure to use ...
