Re: Newbie

Welcome aboard Chris. What part of Taiwan are you in? Are you Taiwanese or an expat living in Taiwan? It's been a few years since I've been back but I promised myself the next time I return I would fly fish the mountain streams or try my luck at some of those tarpon in the rivers of Taipei. Look for...

Re: Fishing Emergers

or for that matter, the tyers before delivering to the company. Because 8 year old slave labor kids don't care. They are only worried about making their quota so they get their daily helping of gruel and don't get beat up. Look at the price of those flies, pretty sure they aren't tied by local tier...

Re: Fishing Emergers

Fish it like a dry. The fly is supposed to partially sink at least the bottom portion. It floats upright not traditionally horizontal so only the hackle and deer hair should be dressed.

Re: Hello, first post.

I'd sure add an olive Woolly Bugger to the list, sizes #10 through #4. I've caught bass (largemouth and smallmouth, depending), trout, crappie and catfish on them Buena Vista Lakes, the upper (no catfish or bass there, but carp minnow) and lower (add carp minnows) Kern River, Isabella. Even picked ...

Re: Simms Warranty

Simms does indeed have a policy of first repair free, even if the problem is caused by yourself. Actually that's what they say but I wasn't charged for fixing this: http://1.bp...

Re: California Heritage Trout Challenge

Buddy of mine completed it. I need two more but they are all in NorCal and I haven't been able to get there as of yet. I hope to complete it soon but we'll see. I was shocked the certificate is actually done really nice and not some cheeseball cert that I was expecting.

Re: Fishing licences

Thanks for the reminder Luc. I really wish CA would go to a 365 day license like other states like Utah. Considering we no longer need to visibly wear our licenses anymore and all licenses now are typed on the same paper every year I don't see why we go by the calendar day licensing system other tha...
