Friend of mine was stationed at China Lake some years ago. He used to entertain himself by fly fishing for lizards with a colored indicator. The way it's going Jon is going to have great "fishing" right at his doorstep.

The retractor for my 8 year old wading staff failed a couple of weeks ago. I emailed Simms on Monday. Ryan replied quickly and I had a new retractor on Thursday. Can't get any better service than that!

The Pasadena show wasn't much the last few years but now I sure miss it. Can't believe that they don't have a show in SoCal anymore.

One big advantage is that you're not continually shortening leaders when you're tying on more tippet. When I used a guide (Eric Hein) in Mammoth a couple weeks ago I noticed that he's using tippet rings to make his nymphing leaders.
