Re: Snow Peak Titanium

Used a gift certificate remnant and my 20% off to buy a steri pen. Tired of using a squeeze filter bottle. This seems much easier.

Re: DIY Spool Ternder from Tightline Production

Sure solves the mess with getting superglue all over the fingers. Also provides a larger hole to thread tippet through than a bead. I'm convinced. Thanks Jon.

Re: Lost a FFA Member

Truly a nice guy. He was the editor of the Orange County FF Club newsletter and helped with tying classes and outings as well. Not that old either. A real shock.

Re: Pray for rain/snow or learn to fish for chickens

Friend of mine was stationed at China Lake some years ago. He used to entertain himself by fly fishing for lizards with a colored indicator. The way it's going Jon is going to have great "fishing" right at his doorstep. :comfort:

Re: Shout out for Simms!

The retractor for my 8 year old wading staff failed a couple of weeks ago. I emailed Simms on Monday. Ryan replied quickly and I had a new retractor on Thursday. Can't get any better service than that!

Re: The Fly Fishing Show

The Pasadena show wasn't much the last few years but now I sure miss it. Can't believe that they don't have a show in SoCal anymore.

Re: Free Kindle Book on Amazon 11-14-2013

Can't believe these deals from Amazon. A few months ago I scored the Dynamic Nymphing e-book for free. Btw, you can also download to your ipad or any device with a Kindle app.

Re: Marriott's Sold!

I read today on the Kiene board that Fishwest, the online retailer in Utah is also part of the group. Kiene's, Marriott's, Grizzly Hackle (Missoula) and Fishwest are under common ownership. Interesting, combining online retailing with brick and mortar stores. Kiene's is going to be renamed to Fishwe...

Re: Tippet rings

One big advantage is that you're not continually shortening leaders when you're tying on more tippet. When I used a guide (Eric Hein) in Mammoth a couple weeks ago I noticed that he's using tippet rings to make his nymphing leaders.
