Re: New to the Bay Area

Thanks People, I am not a member over there so I can not post, but some more info, info is king. Am I correct in thinking around Hwy 20 bridge? Cheers, Wingnut Since I hate the Zooba and rarely waste my time fishing there, I'll answer your question! Yes, around the 20 bridge is a popular ...

Some say, posting too much about the Yuba. ;) But yes, there is an ongoing thread on the Y, and a new one pops up just about every week.

Casting a 9wt for 8hrs straight should heal you up real quick. Let's hit the Delta in a couple weeks! ;)

Sounds like a fun party. Need to check my schedule............

Re: Question #2...

On my trips to Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, would this same reel suffice for trout? Would a 6wt not make more sense as an all around? Or for a second outfit, does skipping sizes make more sense, like 4, 6, 8? Harp I personally think it makes more sense to skip a size. If I remember correctly, you ha...

Re: Help me understand Rio Versitip II

I don't know what the color coding is on the line you have, but this is straight from Rio's site. http://www.rioproducts.com/fly-lines/spey/tips/intouch-15ft-sink-tips/ Between this and Bob's info you should be able to figure it out. I have some older Rio tips, and I think the coding is colored bars...

Re: The Big FIVE-OH...

Well, hot dawg, I'm turning 50 on January 24th, which also marks the official day I can retire. So, Tami & I can think of no finer way to celebrate than to turn it into an FFA gathering. Retiring @ 50?? Man, I must've done something TOTALLY wrong!  Congrats on livin' the life! briansII

Re: Finally pulled the trigger....

The Scadden issues are on certain forums. Could be that they are just bashing or they are really having issues with making actual contact with Dave Scadden. I have not personally owned one of his watercraft so I could not tell you first hand. I have seen my buddy Mike's frameless pontoon and it loo...

Re: Finally pulled the trigger....

Nice boat Benny. I bet you'll be very happy with it. Bigger, as in a custom cataraft, is not always better, IMHO. As for going with the Outcast, vs Scadden. Again, I think you'll be very happy with that choice. I have no issues with my Scadden, but customer service can be a bit slow to respond. bria...

Re: Best Cold Weather Fishing/Hunting Gloves?

Jeff, I'd like to tell you that I'd found the gloves to meet your needs, but like you I've tried them all and determined that I just can't stand fishing with gloves on. Instead, I carry the hand warmer packets in my pocket and stick my hands in to warm them up whenever they get too cold to use. You...

Re: Tailing Gloves?

brianII, how do you put a video on this site so you watch it on this site? When I added my video in my comment above, it takes you off the site to watch it. Andy EDIT Sorry, I didn't watch your video before replying. My info below doesn't apply to Photobucket videos. AFAIK, that's the only way to p...

Re: Getting Organized

Must be nice to be able to find specific flies for specific places. Clearly you have that dialed in. Me, it could take hours.....even days, to find flies I have scattered around. Very frustrating. :fireangry: I'll get around to organizing my selection....right after I finish organizing my gear. ;) b...

Re: Tailing Gloves?

Take your pick of damages: 1) use a tailing glove and remove slime from the tail section, or, 2) don't use a tailing glove and drop the fish on it's head. I've made my choice! I use a tailing glove for handling large fish and I do not use a tailing glove for handling smaller fish where I use dehook...
