Re: Managed Only a Handful at Local.

Went onto my laptop and can now see the video. Looks like fun Charles.

Don't know why the Ipad won't show the video link.

Re: Brookie Eradication

The brookies seem to have overrun one of the Colorado Cutthroat creeks I fished in Wyoming. Caught about a dozen before I found a cutthroat. It would be nice to see them removed from some native waters. Isolated Sierra lakes, not so much an issue. John John, Didn’t you have mountain lion problems a...

Re: Is it Worth It?

Welllllllll, it wasn’t worth it.. Lucfish and I hit a former cherry patch for nada. The company, however, was excellent. Sorry to hear about your old haunt not holding any fish. You and Luc should schedule a few days together in Kansas later in the Spring. The Big O should be very productive this y...

Re: Is it Worth It?

Fished a local just after New Years. Fishing was subpar but the "company" was good. Water was running fast and unlike the past two years when I could regularly get a 12 inchers or two this time only dinks and micordinks were taking. Not sure if it was because the "big" fish were...

Re: Is it Worth It?

Curtis,

I’d head to the Kern and fish the section parallel to the airport up to Caldwell Creek. That stretch always produced nice fish during the winter months before runoff starts.

Re: Where Did Everyone Go?

Midger and I are still here in Kansas. We fished the Big O probably six or seven times this summer and early fall. The smoke from the California and Oregon fires was thick and combined with hot temps made breathing conditions less than ideal throughout most of the Pacific Northwest and into Montana ...

Re: Redington Classic Trout Rod- 7'6" 2wt

Jim,

Glad you found yourself a nice little 2 weight and that you are so close to the Truckee and Little Truckee. There used to be some big browns in that stretch between Boca and Verdi many years ago when I would fish there when we stayed in Tahoe.

Have fun with your new wand!

Jeff

Re: The SGs [WFSG]

Trash cleanup gives me mixed feelings. In isolated areas, I figure my trash pickup will last for years (maybe). In heavily used areas, the trash returns the next weekend. Big thanks to groups like Keepers of the Kern who address the weekly efforts. In early 2020 covid days, I headed out to a creek ...

Re: Neoprene booty bunching in stocking foot waders

lucfish wrote:Try adding an extra pair of socks before you put on the waders.

What Luc said....if you eliminate the loose space inside the booty, then they won’t slip and bunch up.

Re: Short rods- 6'- 7'

Jim, Here’s the link to a little 6’2” two weight small creek rod that I posted about back in 2015. I realize that some of you younger fellas probably don’t even know what fiberglass is, but the “old school” technology is a lot fun to use and still catches a few fish. :) http://flyfishingaddicts.com/...

Re: The Water Explodes - how to land that fish

My experience on the Owyhee was that standard nymphing was more effective since I didn't have the diverse set of tiny dry flies to choose from. The hookup varied from a nose-down bury in the immediate site or an explosion. Swinging the rod in the direction of the fish travel will take some training...
