Re: How many live in los angeles ?

This has nothing to do with fly fishing and everything to do with BBQ on La Brea near Olympic. NYBBQ at 901 La brea is excellent. Very small parking, in a tiny strip mall, this place is full of wonderful taste. From the fall off the bone BB Ribs to the Louisiana Beef Links. YUMMY! Look it up at htt...

I thought it was interesting and well done video. I thought it was funny that the only style that caught any fish was the Czech technique!

Re: My new Winston

Craig, Nice rod. I own a whole quiver of green sticks. Nothing cast or fishes like a Winston rod. That DL4 is a great dry fly rod. Don’t ever sell it! The DLs were only made a couple of years and have become quite desirable and collectable. Check out the Winston forum for more info http://www.winst...

Re: laguna nigel lake

Ariel, Sorry to here about the slow day on the lake. You should have come to the LBCC pre trip meeting Wednesday night. We are doing a trip to the lake on the 13th of this month. Check out the December newsletter for more info on how to fish the lake and come on out and give it another try.

Re: ... not what you think!

If you live within 50 miles or so of Long Beach. Then you should go to the Long Beach Casting Club on Sunday Mornings to get some tips on casting. Then go see Joe Libeu at Bob Marriotts in Fullerton. He’ll get you the best equipment for your price range. He also is a master FFF instructor and does a...

Re: Mono Vs. Fluoro

I have been using fluoro for about a year. It has some pluses that I think far out way the minuses. The biggest problem with fluoro is tying knots that don’t fail. If your knots are shabby they will break with ease when using Fluoro. Tie good knots and lube them when you tighten them up. After you h...

Re: Fly Fishing Club

Fly addict, Did you take the casting course? Ten bucks for six weeks is a awesome deal. And everyone that has fished with me knows I can't cast worth a darn and need some serious lessons. I think I may need all the instructors they have Benny, Yes I took the class about 5 years ago. It helped me al...

Re: Fly Fishing Club

There are very few members of the LBCC that can't cast. Some of those guys would say I am one of them, and I tied for 3rd place at the SSFF Rendezvous casting game. If you want to improve your casting it is the club to belong to. There are at least 5 members that I know of who are FFF Certified Mast...
