Re: California's Heritage Trout

Shane, I am not sure if this will apply, but over the years there have been distinct varieties of trout, rainbows included, which have been reexamined and found to be the same as other varieties. As an example, the Kamloops rainbows which are planted as trophy fish here on the Kings. At one time the...

Re: PONTOONS vs. FLOAT TUBES

Cool. But just so you know, the water striders are made to take a motor. I attended a presentation last year by a guy that has 9hp gas motor mounted on his. Takes his dog along. :D :D

Re: PONTOONS vs. FLOAT TUBES

Benny, this will not help on cost, but have you considered either of these:

http://www.waterstrider.com/

http://www.bigskyinflatables.com/

I would love to get one, but the ca$h scares me off a little. still, kind of the best of both worlds.

Re: The future of felt at Simms…

I've two pairs of wading boots. Both are Simms. The first pair I got was last years Freestone felt soled. Those are great in slimy conditions. I keep studs in but will remove them for places like the Kern. The other pair is the Headwaters Aquastealths. I really like these. Easier to get on and off, ...

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

Just cool the fermenter in a water bath. Get one of those cheap plastic bucket things with rope handles. Put the fermenter into it, fill with water and place dark wet towels around and over the top. Portect from light and keep the airlock in place. The wet towels should help keep the temp down a lit...

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

BevMo might/should have it, but I found it at the Save Mart at Nees/First. Same place I found Blackthorn Cider.

If you find some, post and let me know. :D

The future of felt at Simms…

Seeing as wading boot discussions arise from time to time, I though some of you would be interested in this:

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

Old Rasputin? No, but it is the same style, different brewer. Here is a link to Stone's IRS: http://www.stonebrew.com/irs/ Old Rasputin is from North Coast Brewery. I've not tried it yet, but will keep an eye out. Jon, when you brew, do you do all grain or extract. I was doing extract brews, but als...

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

I did not visit the Russian River Brewery, but did Lagunitas (way cool, a bar overlooking the bottling floor :D . while we were there, the guy giving us the tour was called away. as he walks off he says over his shoulder "You know where the taps are" :D ), Anderson Valley & Bear Republ...

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

Dood! I finally got a hold of some of the Imperial Russian Stout. Had it on my last camping trip. O. M. F. G.! If you like big beers, and having stated that "The Stone beers are great", I must assume you do, then you may just love this beer. Dense flavor profile. Coffee, dark chocolate, bl...

Re: Rendezvous Tournament on Kern

I think it was a mushroom burger I had, not sure. That was October last year. I know I had the Red, did not care for it. In fact, I did not finish it. The burger was very good. I had the Stout the last two times I was there. Decent. Did not compare at all to beers from the likes of say Lagunitas or ...

Zee, Zee, Zee. Uh, yeah. That, uh…that, yeah that works!   And you let this girl leave the country without you? Jeez. Nice pic, but quite honestly, the one she took of herself on the Alaska trip? That was pretty good too. You know, the one you posted, she's wearing the bandana. Gre...
