Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

Ok, got the wading pants, look pretty well made for $60 on sale. Foot is way too big for me. I think my buddy might fit them perfect so maybe he'll buy them or I'll send back. The small (8-10) stockingfoot is too big for my 8 foot, without having to steal a pair of boots from Bozo. Decide to try som...

Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

Bummer. First the Redington wading pants, now the 5.10 shoes. You guys are messing with me.

I see some 5.10's on Amazon for $354!!! OMG. I'll hire a guide and use his gear for that price.

Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

John, Apparently I'm part Polar Bear, because I can wet wade in pretty cold temps I surf fish here in Carlsbad all winter in surf booties and trunks, so the cold does not bother me either. I don't see where they make those 5.10 Water Tennies any longer. We'll see what these BPS pants look like, I c...

Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

This all sounds good, and pretty much confirms most of my thoughts. I run "hot" so sweat very easily, rarely wear long pants even in winter. I figured "breathable" was a much more optimistic marketing slogan than reality. I like the idea of wading pants, as well as the socks. Got...

Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

Looking for some durable breathable waders that are suitable for hiking in. Trying to get some gear together for my summer trip. What about boots? How about wade able pants? Any ideas are appreciated. I'm thinking of getting some stuff now during the, ahem, so called winter. Never used waders, so no...

Read between the Resident and Non-Resident fee schedule. This is still current so it's Feb 28, 2018 for this year. Wait 3 more weeks.

Re: Back in Cali

I'm off to Baja again this year or I'd be up there that week since it's our spring break. Have fun and welcome home.

Re: A Huge Lesson

Mike, that's one of the worst stories I've heard. So creepy. I had my van broken into at Mission Bay by some drifter on a bike, but never had an encounter like that anywhere. Hope Chris heals up quick and justice is done for Mr. Suckerpunch. Take care, bro.

Re: CDFW Lands Pass...*??

Wow, Batiquitos Lagoon is right next to my house, and San Elijo just a bit south. I do know they plan an extensive restoration of San Elijo Lagoon over the next couple years. Since dwindling numbers of people even get outdoors, it seems like a reasonable way for those who do to support their recreat...

Re: Kern 11/18/17

I've had that chicken fried steak, it's excellent. Sorry about the fishing, but I'm sure your buddy appreciates the time you took to teach him! Have a great holiday season!

Perhaps during my flights for work I'll be able to progress some more. But so far, the historical aspect is great.

The other two books intersect Cadillac Desert in some chapters.

Water, Agriculture, and California

Just finished three good books on various aspects of water in our state. As a native of Southern California (and resident of Fillmore, which lost many folks due to the St. Francis dam collapse) I have always marveled at the waterworks, old railroad bedding, and other features of times long past. Lon...

Re: Bye bye, Photobucket

So, what is the status of original photos that you have already uploaded to PB? Do I still have access to download to a local drive/stick type media? I have not got any emails from PB, and I guess I'd just like to offload my photos if I can no longer post them on forums. I do see that my old photos ...

Re: DIY Fly Rod Mount

Nice! I have a Thule rack on my truck shell, so I could do the same thing......my luck, I'd hit a giant bird and it would shatter all my rods. briansII My roommate hit a seagull recently, just after crossing the border into Baja going west along the border fence. It shattered her windshield, ...
