Set that parking brake..........

I saw this on Kiene's Forum. Apparently a guide on the Trinity didn't set the brake and the result was a sunk rig. Fortunately nobody was hurt but I'm sure the insurance company won't be happy.

Re: Getting Organized

Brownbear, I also have a number of the larger stock boxes that feed the smaller flyboxes. These boxes are 7" by 11" and have 21 compartments, and are for steelhead flies, nymphs, midges, etc. I also create boxes for guests from these stock boxes. I guess it's like WB says--OCD, but I enjoy...

Getting Organized

Winter—a time to refill flyboxes with the flies you’ve lost over the previous season, get more organized, and label boxes in case you happen to lose one on stream or at the lake. This won’t necessarily insure you get a lost box back, but I can guarantee that without labelling your boxes, your chance...

Re: Airstream Chronicles Pt. III

Nice fish and looks like you're all (dogs included) having a grand ole time.

Only two salmon flies? You need to tie some.

Need Lines?

Sierra Trading Post has a really good selection of Rio and Scientific Anglers lines in stock now and at really good prices. I ordered a switch rod line for my 5 weight switch rod but there are also regular lines for trout, lakes, and saltwater. With the additional 25% off there are some pretty good ...

Re: Airstream Chronicles Pt. II

Looks like a great time and I'll bet you're all having a blast. Whitefish are really common throughout the NW and are a great indicator of the health of a watershed. Interesting shot of the teasel--an invasive species, but it does look nice in floral arrangements. Thanks for posting your continued s...

Re: 2015 SWC Fly Fishing Faire, Bishop. Oct 16-18

I woke up this morning at 9 AM to a pouring rain in Mammoth and it is just now tapering off around noon. It looks like today was the highest chance of rain, but there are still slight chances all weekend. No offense guys and I hope you get some fishing in, but I am rooting for the rain! I am with y...

Re: New fly rod

Good pairing. The key to getting new rods is to have so many that the wife never knows when a new one comes in. ;)

Re: New fly rod

You better have Santa place it on layaway, as they won't last long at that blowout pricing. ;)

Re: FUNemployment

Now that was a great way to move! Really nice scenery along the way, and Idaho looks a lot like Kansas ;) . The Dagger Falls area is very pretty. Were there any salmon in while you were there or were you early? The picture of dog carrying his own gear and the picture of your wife after McCallans are...

Re: 2wt vs 3wt: Is there a difference???

Not much difference btwn a 2wt and a 3wt. One thing to consider is - which weight rod(s) do you already own? I ask because, as you build up your quiver of rods, take note that it is a bit hard to tell the difference btwn rods that are only 1 weight apart. However, it's fairly easy to feel the diffe...

Re: Wood River Stealthrider Float Tube

First, welcome to the site. You are probably going to have a hard time finding a woodriver tube now as they quit making them quite a few years ago. Unless you're hard set on getting that particular brand, I'd look at the FishCat line of tubes. http://www.outcastboats.com/float-tubes/fish-cat-float-t...
