Re: My Personal Bests for 2010 (warning: lots of pics)

Very nice Bob :) :) :)

It brought back memories of finding guns and hobbling into Dennys

I'm proud to call you a friend :)

Let's do it again next year.

Re: 2011 California fishing license

Trying to understand this new process I keep hearing about.....

So if your license is just the receipt showing that you paid for it, are you just making copies of the receipt? And these receipts are what we have to carry next year?

Re: A hole in the water you.......

I've never owned a boat, but I have always been told by people that do that the two best days of being a boat owner are.....

1. The day you buy it.

2. The day you sell it.

:( :( :(

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!

I'm thankful for my family and our health, a place to live and food to eat, the friends I have made here over the years, and that I still have a job in these tough economic times.

Re: Rattle snakes are still out there!

Wow.....I've always told myself that if I ever got bitten, to just keep my wits, don't panic, get to a vehicle and get help asap.....and everything would be alright. Obviously not the case. Seems odd that he went so quickly. Condolences to his family, and to you Chuck for the loss of your friend. Rob

Re: Welded Loops and Leader Connections

Actually the double uni is a stronger knot than the blood knot. Further the tag ends run paralell to to the line instead of perpindicular in the blood knot. This makes the knot a little trimmer, I think. The single uni knot is great for tying droppers off a lead hook. You can carefully cinch up the...

Re: Welded Loops and Leader Connections

Like Okie angler I use red amnesia nail knotted to the floating line with a perfection loop knot at the other. You can make the loop as small as need be or as large as you want. It costs next to nothing and lasts forever. Your FL will never crack and when fishing without an indicator it serves the ...

Re: No Marriott's Show This Year

I was very disappointed in Fred Haul and the Pasadena Fly Fishing Show last year. I did like Marriott's show better than the other two combined. Fred Hall is okay if you still fish conventional rod/reel. And it is good for ocean gear. But there is just not much there for fly fishermen. I stopped go...

Re: Welded Loops and Leader Connections

Loop Failure.... I'd like to report under stress of a big fish but not. I noticed my fly line had a crack just above the weld maybe a weak spot where the line hinged? Anyway Stanberry made a streamside repair and I'm now without a welded loop. Line is less than one year old 3wt. Andy What brand was...

Very true Eric. Even with the BM show being cancelled I still will not go to the Pasadena show. I think it has steadily gone downhill.

Re: No Marriott's Show This Year

Hmmmmm.....I wonder what the reason is? Especially since the site said it would be back in 2011.

I also enjoyed dropping by. I usually ended up seeing a bunch of you guys there!
