Re: Hi everyone

Welcome to the fray. Just about everyone here is probably already jealous of where you live. ;) Post up some reports and make us all wish we lived closer.

Re: Is the Site Slowing Down?

Some good thoughts by everyone on this topic. For me personally, I just haven't had any time to devote to fishing (let alone posting). I haven't even touched a rod in almost 2 months, and it's starting to wear on me. Just too busy with family and work stuff to get out and fish. Hopefully that change...

So what if you're like me; a lousy caster with a bad rod?
I guess there's no hope for me.

Re: Carry-on rods & reels???

A few years back, I flew from San Diego to Sacramento (can't remember which airline) and I was able to carry-on two rod cases duct taped together. The rods were 8 footers and were only 2 pieces, each. The cases were the old Orvis hard plastic green ones. It didn't seem to be a problem.

Re: Fly rod set up

Welcome to the site. I picked up a 9 foot 6wt Access about a year ago, and I've been very happy with it and impressed with its versatility. I've used it to throw dries on Hot Creek, weighted clousers in the bay for bass and halibut, and big deer-hair frogs for bass in the pond. It's performed well i...

Re: September Photo Contest

Here's mine: #1 - A breathtaking (in both beauty and difficulty) view up a favorite Eastside canyon of mine. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m553/Rembrey/Fall%20Contest%202013/DSCN1394_zps8ad29013.jpg #2 - A tantalizing plunge pool that's yielded a good brown each of the past two falls. Hopefull...

Re: Fly Line Weight?

Thanks for all of the info, guys. I might see if our school's science department has a good enough scale to weigh the line there. If not, Richard, I might take you up on your offer and try and borrow your scale, since you're not too far away.

Thanks for all the help.

Fly Line Weight?

This might be a dumb question, but here it is anyways... Is there a way to determine the weight of a fly line if it's not labeled? Context: I just got a Lamson Konic 3.5 on eBay, and unbeknownst to me, it came with backing and fly line, but there was no info on the line. I've tried contacting the se...

Re: Labor Day Plans

I'll be doing a combo Saltwater/Freshwater day on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. Hitting the bay in the morning for some Spotted Bay Bass and maybe a Sand Bass (with a tiny chance at a Calico, maybe?) and then chasing some largemouth in the evening.
