I just spent hours on this.

I've always wanted to fish the McCloud but I heard to the campground may have been damaged from last years storm.

Re: Good waders for hiking? Wading pants?

John, Apparently I'm part Polar Bear, because I can wet wade in pretty cold temps and rarely hike long distances with waders on. So unless there is snow on the ground, I'm wet wading. Im using the Simms Arapaima pants that I got on Clearance. I've fallen into the water with them and they repel water...

Re: A Huge Lesson

Even if SD County was a CC friendly county, this incident wasn't going to be cured with a gun. Amen. And like Forrest Gump once said, "And that's all I'm gonna say about that." * I'm hoping fast recovery for Chris, and hoping the perpetrator gets his day in court, and the help that he nee...

Re: I will fill in the blanks...

I think you were there a week before I was.

The snow that you received that week made our vacation an absolute winter wonderland, in the Fall. Nothing like snow capped mountains and 60 degree weather.

Thanks for the TR and the pics!

Re: Water, Agriculture, and California

I'm a chapter in on Cadillac Dessert.

Perhaps during my flights for work I'll be able to progress some more. But so far, the historical aspect is great.

Same here.

Although knowing my friends, they'll dump it into the LA River and call it a day.

Re: Bye bye, Photobucket

Bandwidth isn't cheap.

Hopefully Imgur, et. al. don't pull the same thing as Photobucket did.

Ultimately, having your own website and paying for the domain registration every year will be the only option.

Re: Intriguing Legal Strategy

Not to mention the Owens Valley could very easily - perhaps very probably - have ended up looking more like Bakersfield or Fresno than any kind of ranch. Andy "But I love Bakertucky and Fresneck," says everybody I know, facetiously. "Let's spend the weekend there!" I have a few ...

Re: Most worthless thing in all of fly fishing

Those looked really awesome until I saw the price!!!! I'd probably spring for 50% of that price though!!! ;) Yeah, I wasn't going to pay more than what I paid for my regular wading boots. But when you get 'em for $75 or so, shipped free, I thought, "what the heck, i'll give it a shot.&qu...

Re: Most worthless thing in all of fly fishing

Anywhere locally (SoCal) that sells these types of boots? I looked at REI website doesn't look like they have canyoneering boots. Would like to check it out as I may have found my next travel wading boot. I have no idea if 5.10 is sourced locally. I had to get it directly from their website, and pa...

Re: Most worthless thing in all of fly fishing

I'm using my canyoneering boots that stick to snot covered rocks like velcro. Those pair of canyoneering boots has been THE best investment I've made in fly fishing since I started the sport, bar none. Do you have a pic those boots particularly of those soles? I wonder why fishing company's haven't...
