Re: Orange County Fly Fishing Club Auction

Shane I'm sure glad that at this stage in my fly fishing I've only learned to covet graphite rods not bamboo!

Orange County Fly Fishing Club Auction

Well last night I bought exactly what I dont need, another rod! I went to the OC Fly Fishing Club Auction with thoughts of spending $20 or so for another Rite Bobbin. Didn't see much else that I really wanted until I wandered over to the used rods. I found this: http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww...

Re: Korkers on STP

My first pair of wading boots was a pair of Korkers Konvertibles. Still have them, but using them for wet wading only (the booties on my Simms waders won't fit in them); working on my second set of felt soles. Some people have had issues with the soles coming off while fishing but I've never had a p...

Re: The Manzanar Fishing Club

I saw it when it played in Costa Mesa in May. Very interesting. It's not a movie per se but instead photos assembled into a story with narration. Very interesting esp for those of us with a Japanese heritage.

Re: Unlimited "Jim's Mustache" Thread

Last trip in the locals Jim bent down to fill his filter bottle. His mustache stayed immersed for a minute while he let it leisurely fill. I looked and there was a 16 inch brown hiding in the new structure. I cast my ehc and let it drift toward Jim. Got a ferocious take but then he took me deep into...

Re: Lanyard Question

Thanks all for your help. I think I'm going to be penurious (cheap) and buy the Dr. Slick locally. I called Marriott's and they have several in stock. The other alternatives all look good but my cheapness is showing! Need it to get ready for a road trip with the wife and daughter. Hoping to get a fe...

Lanyard Question

Thinking about switching to a lanyard for local fishing or short trips (like getting away for a few hours on vacation when the wife is still sleeping). Does anyone have recommendations on specific brands or what to look for? Thanks.

Re: New fly fishing vehicle

Where is Tom Sakai? He already drives an X5 down there... this is the next logical step up. Unfortunately Tom just upgraded to a Cayenne Turbo S otherwise I'm sure he'd pick this offroading beast up. NOT. Still driving the OLD X5. But only to certain places. After my first time down into a lo...

Re: 2nd annual Fly Addicts BBQ and Casting Games

A great time was had by all! Here are a few pics; sorry I didn't get a pic of Bob's outrageously good salmon, Mark's pulled pork, or Jim's homemade rolls. http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww338/tomsakai/Fly%20Addicts%20April%202012/DSC_2849.jpg http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww338/tomsakai/Fly...
