Re: Passing It On To the Next Generation

So awesome. I still cherish my pictures of me as a little guy catching fish with my dad and grandpa. Of course, they were bluegill and 6-inch trout, and not the giants your little guy is holding. Well done, grandpa!

Re: Is FFA Dead?

I, too, was unable to post for a long time, although I haven't actually been doing much fly-fishing of late. I have a couple of reports from the Summer that I'll add (I already put up a trip report from Park City back in July). I miss the excitement and enjoyment of opening the FFA board and seeing ...

Re: Short rods- 6'- 7'

I don't have or use a wide array of rods and none of them are high end, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt... ...but I've used a 7 footer and an 8 footer extensively on small creeks, and for me, I greatly prefer the 8'. The majority of my "casts" are dips, daps, flips, and bow-and-ar...

Re: Small Stream Leader

My guide said it was around 50 + pounds. He said it was probably 60 pounds before it swam 100 miles up to where I caught it in the Yentna Drainage area. I caught it on a Winston Blank 6 weight that I built in a unnamed creek about 100 miles inland from Anchorage on a pink wog fly. Took about 30 min...

Re: Small Stream Leader

Holy Smokes! That first fish you're holding looks like an over-sized stuffed animal fish you'd get at Costco. How much did that thing weigh?

My name is Rielly, and I have a strong addiction to throwing dries on small mountain streams.

Re: Posts

It's definitely been sad seeing the lack of activity on the board. Traditionally it slows down some during the winter time, but it's been especially sparse this season. I know for me personally, I just haven't been able to get out and fish much recently. I haven't touched a rod since my 2-day run to...
