Re: The San Gabes 2023 and beyond ...

This landed on my feed. Interesting timing. "Fodor’s puts San Gabriel Mountains National Monument on its 2024 ‘No List’" https://www.pasadenastarnews.com/2023/11/24/fodors-puts-san-gabriel-mountains-national-monument-on-its-2024-no-list/?utm_content=fb-pasadenastarnews&utm_campaign=soc...

Re: California Heritage Trout Challenge

I got two more to go. I planned on completing it back in 2020 but lockdowns shut that idea down. Haven't been able to find the time to complete it since. This is a good motivator.

Re: What is this Message Board Worth?

I'd say it's worth quite a lot. I've become friends with many here on this board. Without it I'd never been able to return to fishing at Canyon Lake thanks to Luc. Without it I would have never had some spectacular duck hunts with Jeff at his club. Without it I would have been fishing blind in the S...

Re: Is FFA Dead?

Let's be honest its a zombie, kind of alive but really dead. Wish it weren't the case but its true. I welcome anyone to try and change that. I haven't fished much this year due to family reasons so I don't have much to post.

Re: When Do You Stop?

It's not worth fishing now. I know of a local fishery that still has "big" fish but I think its best to leave them alone. Water is low and they may not even survive the summer. If they survive I see them again when water levels increase. Yes it is cyclical. Several years ago the locals wer...

Re: LA River Delicacy

Brian Reconned my old carp stopping grounds the other day only to find most of the choice areas are now posted. That's a shock to me. There are some areas still unposted. It looks like there still access but fishing maybe limited to only certain areas and they were never my choice spots. May or may ...

I haven't been in like 10 years. Just so you don't waste time traveling to OC I'll do some scouting to make sure its like it was before if so I'll get back to you.

Re: LA River Delicacy

DS My experience is they spawn in the shallows but I could be wrong. The point of the males bumping a female is in the hopes of getting her to lay her eggs so he can fertilize them. I can't imagine successful insemination happening in the deeper areas of water. Seems like they'd miss more than getti...
